Psychotherapy & Psychiatry

About

Jacob Howe, M.D.

I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. I completed post-graduate training at the Cambridge Health Alliance adult psychiatry residency, then elected to complete an addiction psychiatry fellowship at Partners HealthCare (McLean Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital), both Harvard Medical School training programs.

In addition to my Brookline psychotherapy practice, I am a staff physician at Brandeis University's Student Counseling Center.

The Practice

My approach as a therapist is built upon a psychodynamic framework, yet employs other theoretical perspectives as dictated by the individual needs of each patient.

For my psychotherapy patients who have psychiatric diagnoses requiring psychopharmacology, I can provide the convenience of combined therapy and medication treatment.

Although I am double board-certified in adult and addiction psychiatry, the focus of my Brookline practice is psychotherapy.
